Board Meeting - 12/1/2014

MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF SERRANO WATER DISTRICT

 

The Board of Directors of the Serrano Water District met in an emergency board meeting on Monday, December 1, 2014.  The meeting was held at the District Office located at 18021 Lincoln Street, Villa Park, California.

 

CALL TO ORDER:  President Rickerl called the meeting to order at 10:00 a.m.

PUBLIC COMMENT

None.

 

WATER MAIN BREAK ON WILDWOOD CIRCLE

General Manager Vilander summarized the events that took place yesterday with regard to the water main break behind Smith Reservoir.  The palm trees in the backyard of 10012 Wildwood Circle will be reviewed for stability.  The wall between the two houses will be looked at for stability.  Diver Dan will look at the Smith Reservoir pump station for the exposed footing on the north wall.  An email blast will be done to the City of Villa Park residents giving them a status report of the situation through the City of Villa Park.  Director Pharris asked General Manager Vilander to develop a checklist to deal with emergency situations and shut downs such as this.  Director Haight would like General Manager Vilander to research locks on our valves.  Staff will print out SCADA system alarms for Smith Reservoir and security system camera footage.  General Manager Vilander, Dean Escobedo and Henry Campi will memorialize the events that took place over the last 24 hours as soon as possible.  General Manager Vilander will send a thank you letter to Irvine Ranch Water District for their assistance with this matter.  The homeowner as well as ACWA/JPIA has been contacted.  Paulus Engineering will be performing an assessment today.  General Manager Vilander was commended for a job well done.
